University of Minnesota Main Energy Plant

This project included the renovation of the Old Main Heating Plant building to add combined heat and power generation equipment and space plan for a future package boiler and future chilled water plant equipment to create a multi-function Main Energy Plant Building. The project included demolition of the existing boilers and auxiliaries systems, reconfiguring the building to house a new combustion turbine-generator with accompanying heat recovery steam generator, fuel gas compressor, deaerator, boiler feed water pumps, condensate return system, plant compressed air system, electrical equipment, control room, auxiliary cooling towers, auxiliary cooling water pumps, water treatment equipment, ammonia storage and handling equipment, emissions control and monitoring equipment, along with all associated piping, controls, equipment and accessories.
